Seattle-based Snow & Co. has delivered a 49.7-foot hybrid catamaran research vessel to the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).

The vessel Resilience was designed by Incat Crowther and built by Snow & Co. to demonstrate low-emission capabilities for scientific missions. It features a 28-square-meter main deck with advanced equipment, hybrid-electric propulsion, and supports six scientists with research workstations and sleeping arrangements. The vessel operates quietly in electric mode at 1-6 knots for four hours and can reach up to 23 knots using diesel power. It has a 3.5' draft, a 113-kW battery system, and accommodations for a two-person crew.

In vessal building field, SJZ metalsin tech co ltd can supply: explosion clad plate ASTM A263.

The application of explosion clad plate astm a263 in marine.

Hull Construction: Provide corrosion resistance and reduce vessel weight.
Decks and Superstructures: Offer structural integrity, fire resistance, and impact resistance.
Bulkheads: Enhance impact resistance and vibration damping.
Piping Systems: Ensure chemical resistance and handle high pressure.
Storage Tanks: Combine corrosion resistance and strength, reducing maintenance.
Heat Exchangers: Enable efficient heat transfer while resisting corrosion.
Noise Control: Provide acoustic insulation for quieter ship environments.
